jj-tallNo stranger to the the Music World,  Joanna Jordan made her New York debut a few years ago at Carnegie Hall and has toured and performed for many people, including performances for Her Majesty, The Queen Mother, Her Royal Highness, Princess Margaret; Tina Turner, Harry Belafonte, Tony Bennett, Johnny Mathis, Melissa Manchester, The Three Tenors, Vatican Secretary of State, His Eminence Cardinal Casaroli, The Raja of Punjab, Franklin Roosevelt Jr, Pierre Elliot Trudeau, Wolfgang Puck, Ella Fitzgerald, Oscar Peterson, Chuck Berry and has played National Anthems at a number of Toronto Blue Jays baseball games.

Joined by a variety of talented musicians, John Findlay or Joe Baldasio on Guitar and Vocals, Henry Heilig or Mark Rynkun or Mark Sanders on Bass and Gary Taylor or Kevin Richards on drums, “Pluckin Rite”  is Joanna’s exciting new band.

johnf-cGuitarist, John Findlay attended Berklee, plays guitar-keys-sing-compose, has recorded several CDs -Gigged/recorded with: Matt “Guitar” Murphy, Katrina and the Waves, Marc Jordan, Carlos Del Junco, Colin Linden, Rita Chiarelli, Georgie Fame, Snooky Prior, Sylvia Tyson, Cindy Church, Richard Carpenter & Carol Welsman

henry-cBassist Henry Heillig has been a high-profile member of the Toronto music scene for over 30 years, mainly as a jazz and blues player. Besides leading his own contemporary jazz quartet, the Heillig Manoeuvre , he is co-founder and musical director of the multi-awardwinning ‘worldbeat jazz band Manteca. Heillig also performs regularly with world-renowned harmonica player Carlos del Junco as well as on a freelance basis with many other bands and ensembles.

Heillig has acted as musical director on the televised Genie and Gemini Awards as well as the children’s television series Eric’s World.and has composed soundtracks for several Canadian documentary films.

garytaylor-cAs a Drummer and Percussionist, Gary Taylor works in a number of interesting musical situations these days. He has been a member of Kevin Breit’s ‘Sister’s Euclid’ for eight years and has recorded five CDs and a DVD with them as well as a new CD with ‘John and the Sisters.’ He also plays drums for Nightfly, Disraeli Gears, Pretzel Logic and tours occasionally with Canadian accapella group the Nylons.

As a Producer he has worked on dozens of projects including Juno-nominated CD, ‘Thirst’ by Jani Lauzon, ‘The Ladder’ by Kiva, ‘Other Folks’ with Sisters Euclid, ‘Soft Electric’ with Ron Reid and ‘Strange Attractors with Glen Hall. He also co-produced several recordings with Doug Blais including Blue Telephone, Lucid Dreaming, Pink Ships and Passenger. His latest project is entitled ‘Foreign Correspondence’ with co-producer Don Breithaupt.
